Mer et monde ecotours offers guided sea kayaking and SUP trips to a wide range of clients. We sometimes welcome more than 100 visitors daily. A significant amount of traffic is therefore possible in the water and we prioritize the safety of our customers in guiding. We therefore ask users to respect the priority accesses of the boat launch according to the schedule of activities in order to avoid congestion. Please note that we only accept the use of the boat launch by clients staying at the campground, as we have limited capacity in our parking areas.

The marine environment in which Mer et Monde is located is protected by the Saguenay-St-Lawrence Marine Park. We thank you for respecting the instructions and laws in effect, particularly in order to protect marine mammals. In addition, the legislation of Fisheries and Oceans Canada is in force in our sector. Transport Canada also has requirements in terms of equipment to be carried on the different types of human powered boats, please refer to them.

The marine estuary is a beautiful environment to paddle. However, it can be very dangerous to venture out because the water temperature is on average 4 degrees Celsius. By law, a minimum of a thermal suit must be worn when the combination of air and water temperature is not above 37 degrees Celsius. In addition, weather conditions can change rapidly, turning a pleasant and controlled outing into an inadequate and risky one. We have therefore established minimum requirements for access to the Sea and World Ecotours boat launch, all in order to preserve the safety of each user.

To use the boat launch, we thank you for respecting the following instructions:

To be a customer in accommodation of the campsite Mer et monde écotours.
To have signed the acceptance of the risks of the boat launch BEFORE at the reception.
Have discussed with a member of the kayak guide team to obtain authorization for access.
Possess the required and legal equipment required by the various legislative bodies.

Have at least a KDM 2, Paddle Canada 1 certification or equivalent experience.

Have at least a SUP Basic Flatwater or SUP Advanced Flatwater certification (depending on the wind conditions) or have taken a SUP course with Mer et Monde Ecotours.

Thank you for your understanding and respect of these instructions.
